On Sunday in the Western Conference Bridgend Blue Bulls beat a spirited fledgling Swansea Valley Miners side.
A Dan Williams score ensured that Bridgend went in with a 16-point half time.
Swansea fought back with two quick tries from Christian Roets and Kevin Allen. However two late tries from Williams and Jon Purnell made the final score 48--22
On Saturday new boys Blackwood Bulldogs pushed Newport Titans to the limit before finally succumbing.

It took over 20 minutes for the first score to be registered and it was Blackwood who went in at the break leading 12-8.
The second half was a classic. The match swung Newport’s way as they scored three on the bounce before Blackwood scored again making the score 44-36..
Cardiff Demons cruised to their second win of the season. It was the Valley Cougars who had the first chance to score on the 10 minute mark but they were denied by a forward pass.
A period of strong Demons attacking play was rewarded with a Chris James try on 20 minutes.
Cardiff’s Tom Burnell increased their lead with two quick tries but Neil Edwards scored from a short kick off to leave the half time score 4-24.
The Demons dominated the second half with five unanswered tries all of which were converted.
