West Wales Sharks earned their first ever win, giving Bridgend Blue Bulls the West Wales title and opening up the play-off race in the process.
The Sharks dominated the first half with two tries from Jonathan Griffiths and one each from Gareth Murphy and Mark Cook. Griffiths converted all four.
Daniel Jacobs scored the Sharks’ lone second half try while Aberavon were led by Mike Healy who scored a try and conversion. Jason Kenneally, Rhys Andrews and Lawrence Griffiths also crossed for the Fighting Irish but it wasn’t enough for them on the night.

Aberavon now need to beat Bridgend on Saturday to secure a play-off place.
In the Eastern Conference Torfaen Tigers kept their play-off hopes alive with a fine 35-18 win over Valley Cougars.
Torfaen took the lead when Matt Entwhistle made the break, Ryan Thomas supported and unselfishly laid it off to Nolan Nicklin who scored. Gareth John-Jenkins went in under the posts on the quarter hour for a second try.
Jon Breakingbury forced his way over, and five minutes later James Allen finally crossed the line to pull the score back to 8-10.
The Tigers scored either side of half time to set up a 15 point lead.
The teams then traded tries with Steffan Jones and Entwhistle scoring for the Tigers and Scott Belmont and Lee Goddard scoring for the Valley Cougars.
