Torfaen produced some champagne rugby to dispose of their West Country neighbours, Richard Griffiths leading the charge with two tries and 13 conversions.

The Tiger’s forwards were rampant throughout with Mat Williams, Damian Hudd, Mike Davies with a hat trick and Phil March all getting on the score sheet as the Welshmen built a 48-6 half time lead. Some scintillating handling in the second half saw the hosts rack up more tires with Mike Stephens and Jason Hill and Nolan Nicklin with a brace each among the scorers. Credit must go to the Sonic who never surrendered and fought to the bitter end.
