Fighting Irish 20 Blue Bulls 68
Bridgend easily beat disorganised Aberavon
Four ex-Wales and Great Britain internationals were on show at Aberavon on Sunday when Bridgend Blue Bulls easily beat the Fighting Irish 68-20 in the Total RL.com RLC Premier Wales on Sunday.

The Bridgend trio Allan Bateman, Kevin Ellis and John Devereux all scored first half tries in the Blue Bulls win while Mark Jones' surprise appearance for Aberavon failed to make any impact as the hosts were 40-0 down at half-time.

Karl Hocking gave the Blue Bulls the lead in the first minute, a try that encouraged the floodgates to open. Jon Williams and Craig Fox also grounded for the visitors

in the first half, the latter a 20-metre run past four defenders.

The deluge continued in the second half as Bridgend increased their lead to 52-0 after quick tries from Fox and Geraint Lewis but Aberavon at last got a try on the board in the 50th minute, Richard Lewis intercepting a pass and running 20 metres to ground.

Rob Melling added another for Aberavon just five minutes later but any thoughts of a recovery were quashed when Gareth James (2) and Devereux all went over in the next 15 minutes.

Aberavon had the last say with tries from Mark Burke and a second for Lewis but there was only going to be one winner today.
