Tigers 16 Titans 42
Newport win 42-16 for the second week in a row
Newport Titans claimed their second 42-16 win in as many weeks beating Torfaen Tigers at Pontypool on Sunday.

After beating the Cougars by the same score last week, the Titans laid down their claim as possible contenders to Bridgend's Welsh crown with a first class display.

However it was Torfaen who took the lead after five minutes after Jason Hill made a 20-metre run to the line beating off three defenders.

Mark Wheeler leveled things up just minutes later with a similar run himself and from then on there was only one team in it as tries from Neil McKimm, John Griffiths and a brace from Paul Jones gave the visitors a 30-6 lead at half-time.

Torfaen almost staged a mini-recovery early in the second half with tries from Chris Landrey and Gareth Jenkins, but a further try from Griffiths and one from Owen Jones put the score well out of the Tigers' reach.
