Aberavon gained a two-try advantage in the 62nd minute after Scott O’Kelly was set up by Sean O’Brien.
They added another three in the next five minutes to vanquish any hopes of a Demons comeback. Gareth Lewis broke through the defence for his second, O’Kelly added another before Lewis completed his hat-trick to give them a 30-point lead.
Dennis Pugh extended the lead on 71 minutes with a try in the corner before Sean O’Brien put 60 points on the board for the visitors in the 79th minute.
But it was the Demons who had the final say with a breakaway try from Andy Jones.
This Saturday sees rugby's classic local derby match 13-man style when Cardiff take on Pontypridd's Valley Cougars. Both sides have equal records this season with a win and two defeats so will be equally as hungry for the points.
The Cougars will benefit player-wise from Pontypridd's rugby union season now completed while the Demons will be keen to shake off their loss to Aberavon and bounce back in front of their passionate home crowd. Kick off at Taff's Well RFC is 2.30pm.
