Valley Cougars 16 Tigers 36
Entwhistle stars as Torfaen clinch third
Torfaen Tigers sealed third spot and a play off place against Aberavon Fighting Irish with a 36-16 win over Valley Cougars at Sardis Road. The Cougars went over for three tries via Rhodri Morris, Paul Haines and James Alan but the Tigers were far too strong.

Matthew Entwhistle again starred for the Tigers with a hat-trick of tries and four goals while Nolan Nicklin claimed a brace. Wing Damien Smith also scored after a brilliant 50 metre run and Chris Williams got the visiting sides seventh. Matthew Hyatt was excellent on his debut but the Man of the Match award went to Dale Nash. Nash, who usually plays fullback

filled in at scrum half and was at the heart of most of Torfaen’s attacks.
