Glamorgan 58 Swansea 6
Glamorgan secured a morale boosting win at home to Swansea to consolidate third place in the Premier League Wales and West.

After a month of poor performances by both sides, it looked like Swansea may have had the upper hand in this match as Will Milde pounced on a first minute Glamorgan error to score under the sticks. Ricki Reckless converted to give them a 6-0 lead.

Glamorgan struck back straight from kick-off after winning a scrum 20 metres from the Swansea try-line. Dylan Davies picked the ball out and ran unchallenged to the line. Will Davies converted, the first of nine goals he would successfully kick.

Ben Rawlings gave Glamorgan the lead in the 18th minute after racing 40 metres down the left wing and placing the ball under the posts.

Dylan Davies tried to repeat this ten minutes later but was tackled metres from the line, but from the play-the-ball, Matt James raced over for the try.
  Will Davies added another try just a minute later after another fine run down the wing and Mark Hodge made the half-time score 30-6 after using his lack of great height to weave past the defence.

Glamorgan increased their lead after only two minutes of the second half, Will Davies scoring his second following a 30 metre run. Five minutes later, Phil Evans charged over to make the score 42-6 and Matthew Wells helped take the tally to 48 after another 30 metre charge to the line.

Carl Gabrielson made the score 52-6 on 57 minutes with a try in the corner and Paul Jonker completed the scoring on 67 after yet another touchline charge.

Glamorgan were hoping to better UWIC’s 66-0 over Swansea in the previous week, but because of the increasing fog leading to poor visibility, referee Andy Howe blew for full-time ten minutes early, but the result stands at 58-6.
