In the last round of matches, Scotland overcame a much improved Ireland by 18-10. Scotland began exactly as they had done in their previous game. A Barry Earl penalty followed by a James Morrow try and a conversion by Earl gave Scotland a lead of 8-0 within fifteen minutes which remained the score at half time.

Linn outstanding. A try by veteran forward Chris Fletcher followed by Ryan Black’s try plus Earl’s conversion opened the Scotland lead to 18-0. Ireland however remained totally positive and were justly rewarded with two tries from their ‘go to’ player centre Keiran Collins. A solitary conversion by Tom Gaffney brought the final result to 18-10 in Scotland’s favour.
